Orchestral Academy
Program Overview

Sunday, July 23rd to Sunday, August 6th, 2023 (departures on Monday August 7th)
The Ameropa is a two-weeks of studies and perform at International Academy of chamber music, fully dedicated to this noble music field.
Program will include chamber music and ensemble rehearsals and public performances live and online.
Participants will be scheduled typically into 3 – 4 chamber groups of various settings. Each ensemble will have by faculty coached rehearsal regularly every second day.
Opening Ceremony
to take place on Sunday, July 23th 2023 at 3 pm in Concert Hall of the Jan Deyl Conservatory and Secondary School for Visually Impaired Students, Maltézské Náměstí 14, 118 44 Praha 1 – Malá Strana
Orchestral Concert
In collaboration with the Filarmonietta Praga, orchestra will perform at the
St. Barbora Church in Kutna Hora on Saturday August 5th.
Program: Antonín Dvořák – The Spéctre’s Bride (Czech: Svatební košile)
cantata for soloists, choir and orchestra op.69

Each chamber music ensemble will be assigned a coach, who will either lead them through rehearsals or even play and perform with them during the rehearsals and at concerts.
For students to be successful, it is important to practice their music parts before attending the academy. That way, they will be able to focus on playing as an ensemble and the more artistic aspects of music making.

Price and what is included?
PRICE INCLUDES
- Tuition
- Basic hostel lodging in 2 or 3 bed rooms. A limited number of the single rooms availiable for the surcharge
- Daily breakfasts. Lunches and / or several complimentary group dinners
- Free tickets for all Academy concerts
- Group travel expenses in the Czech republic in case of events organized by Ameropa during the Academy
- Complimentary Prague city transportation pass for entire period of Ameropa

€ 1000 for passive participants
€ 70 registration fee

Participants in the Orchestral Academy will get a chance to play alongside professional Czech musicians, rehearsing and performing professional-level repertoire.
Students will be given the music beforehand and will participate in sectional rehearsals, ensuring that each musician has the same bowing, fingerings, and phrasing.

About the Orchestral Academy
In collaboration with the Filarmonietta Praga, orchestral concert will be held at the St. Barbora Church in Kutna Hora on August 5th.
There will be several professional players from the Czech Philharmonic who will lead the sections and offer sectional rehearsals. It provides a fascinating insight for participants who come from other countries to play, perform, and practice Czech and European orchestral music alongside experienced Czech professional musicians.
Orchestral repertory will be studied and performed in the week from Monday July 31st – Saturday August 5th. It is possible to apply either as a part of the combined study with chamber music Ameropa, or separately.
